Mandarin Oranges symbolises wealth and gold in Chinese tradition. Thus Chinese exhange them during Chinese New Year, wishing each other prosperity and wealth in the coming year.

Ponkan 椪柑

Easy to peel skin with high sweetness level. It is juicy and medium sized. Honey Ponkan from China have been the all-time favourite. Although Taiwan Ponkan are also gaining popularity in the recent years.

Lukan 芦柑

The skin is thin and wrinkled similar to Ponkan, it is also easy to peel. Sizes of Lukans are slight smaller than Ponkans.

Swatow 蕉柑

These oranges have a thicker and rougher skin compared to the other 2 varieties. The texture is not as juicy and sweet with a hint of sourness. However it is the most durable of all, thus can be used for festive decorations and prayers. Sizes range from small to jumbo.
